Words That Help You Heal

EMBRACE YOUR INNER ROAR

The current image has no alternative text. The file name is: image-14.png
I choose to dance in the pouring rain
And stare up at the moon
Change into pjs when I get home
And enjoy a lackadaisical afternoon
Write a blog on poetry
And publish all about my trauma
I am choosing happiness now
I no longer accept any drama
Laugh out loud at my own jokes
That I tell in my own head
Talk with my son till the early morn
While curled up in my bed
Time I spend with him is important to me
In my life, he will always come first
Even if he just told me that
Our Christmas shopping was the worst
These are a few little things that make me
Into the person that I am
And honestly I am too old to care
I have stopped giving a damn
Love me, hate me, embrace me or
Just up and turn your back
I’ve survived without your type before
I no longer will keep track
But please know that you are always welcomed
To join me in the rain
Sometimes it’s fun to lose control
And act a bit insane
Lose your inhibitions, cry those tears
And never worry as you say
I don’t need your approval to be me
And I am free to act this way
And just remember as you’re passing by
That you can always come through my door
Own yourself, you deserve to shine,
When you embrace your inner roar

    1. Thank you! Yes, this one is definitely based on my life. Although Jaxon (My Son) actually said he had fun Christmas shopping. Lol

I'd love to hear what you think about this piece. Thanks for reaching out!
